about our catechism program

At St. Mark’s our catechism program offers a means to share the teachings of the Catholic faith with our youth and families in order that they may grow in faith and strengthen each person’s relationship with Jesus Christ.

We meet once a week and we serve to build on the teachings that our youth receive from their parents and guardians (their primary catechists) and through the Mass, the Sacraments, Adoration and Devotions offered by St. Mark’s and the Diocese of Saint John.

We seek to build a community of faithful Catholics who live the faith and who receive the Sacraments to fully receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit from First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation. We build our community through hands-on activities, group activities, and retreats.

We recognize the importance of catechesis for the whole family, and we will continue to offer opportunities for growth for the entire family.

Our weekly sessions run between Masses on Sunday morning from 10:40am until 11:40am.
Did you know that if you missed a sacrament such as First Reconciliation or First Holy Communion, we will work with families to prepare you and your child? Please reach out to stmarksreled@bellaliant.com for more information.
Did you know that preparation for Confirmation is a two-year program that typically begins in Grade 8 or above and ends in Grade 9 or above? Youth of high school age are welcome to participate in this program. For more information, please contact us at stmarksreled@bellaliant.com
